Island Village Elementary School being planned (VIDEO)
School board member Tim Weisheyer, as part of the Celebration Foundation Community Conversation series, spoke to Celebration residents about the progress and activities of the Osceola county school board. Among the topics were the future Island Park elementary school. After years of stop and go planning, Island Park is under way. The approximately 1,000 new residences will require a new school and it was determined the best use would be a K-5 school which will be built on 10 acres of dedicated land and will accommodate approximately 1,000 expected students. The school board, as of September 2018, does not have control of the land.
The school will break ground in fall of 2019.
